The factory intake pipe on the Audi RS3 8V is functional, but it is not designed with outright performance in mind. Its corrugated, narrow bore creates turbulence and restriction in the airflow before it reaches the turbocharger. This Ramair intake pipe kit replaces it with a smooth-bore, larger-diameter pipe that lets air flow more freely – helping the turbo spool up quicker and respond more sharply to throttle inputs.

The difference is noticeable in everyday driving as well as at higher revs. With less resistance in the intake tract, the turbocharger does not have to work as hard to pull air in. On a tuned or remapped RS3, this kind of improvement in airflow becomes even more important, as the engine is already demanding more than the standard setup was built to deliver.

What It Does and Why It Matters

The stock pipe restricts airflow due to its corrugated inner surface, which causes the air to tumble and slow down before it reaches the turbo. Replacing it with a smooth-bore pipe reduces that turbulence. The result is a more consistent, efficient charge of air entering the turbocharger at all times. Installation

No ECU changes are required to fit this pipe, though it pairs particularly well with a quality remap and other supporting modifications. Gains will vary depending on the overall state of tune of the vehicle.

Fitment

This kit is designed specifically for the Audi RS3 8V pre-facelift with the 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder engine. This is not compatible with the 2017 onwards facelift RS3 8V. It works with the standard OEM airbox and many popular aftermarket intake systems.
