Philosophy/Design:
A generational change for AC Schnitzer rims. When light-alloy wheels consist of more than one component, they are referred to as multi-piece light-alloy wheels. Three-piece AC Schnitzer light-alloy wheels consist of two rim halves and the rim center. Not only the name, but also the design – both indicate the generational change in the rim segment at AC Schnitzer. While the AC1 rims are designed differently, they follow in the footsteps of their predecessors in one respect: they too are intended to become design classics. With the AC1 rims, AC Schnitzer has reinterpreted the classic double spoke. The result is a sporty hybrid look. Towards the rim flange, the sophisticated design creates the tips of triangles, which become wider towards the rim center and are replaced by five trapezoids. These lead the eye directly to the only classic element of the AC1 rim: the pentagonal hub cap with AC Schnitzer lettering. Despite this multitude of stylistic elements, the design appears tidy and masculine thanks to its very straight lines. All elements combine to give the AC1 wheel solidity and grandeur. In this process, the wheel is first primed, then completely painted. A two-layer clear coat is then applied, consisting of a polyester primer and a matte acrylic clear coat.

Test procedures / safety
After their design, the first sample rims are manufactured under real production conditions. These must undergo a multitude of tests. Among other things, their strength is tested. The bending test simulates the “rim lifespan.” Every AC Schnitzer rim must survive this lifespan unscathed in order to be produced and sold. Vehicle-specific tests, including test installations with clearance measurements and driving tests on public roads and racetracks, follow. Only after these procedures do our rims receive their homologation, i.e., approval for use on public roads. Wheels are safety-relevant components. Therefore, they are inspected and tested with the utmost care.
