Description
Ramair K04 2.0 TFSI Oversize Induction Air Filter Kit (JSK-101-DD)
This is a complete induction kit from Ramair, designed specifically for the transverse 2.0 TFSI engine found across a wide range of popular VAG (Volkswagen Audi Group) vehicles. It fits both K03 and K04 turbo variants – the K03 and K04 are turbocharger models commonly fitted to these engines, with the K04 being the larger, more powerful unit. A blanking plug is included in the kit for K03 owners, so no extra parts are needed.
The kit replaces the restrictive factory air intake system with a larger, freer-flowing setup. The intake pipe runs at 90mm, tapering to 70mm at the MAF point – the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor measures the amount of air entering the engine. This oversize pipework allows more air to flow through with less resistance, which supports better engine performance, improved throttle response, and a more engaging intake sound.
What’s Included
- Oversize intake pipe (90mm tapering to 70mm at MAF point)
- Precision laser-cut heat shield – two-piece design with manifold heat shield
- High-performance twin-layer fully reticulated foam air filter – washable, reusable, and backed by a lifetime warranty
- Blanking plug (for K03 turbo fitment)
- All fitting hardware and installation instructions
Performance and Quality
Ramair have been supplying intake kits to some of the UK’s leading VAG tuning specialists for many years. This kit is 100% hand-made in the UK and finished in satin black powder coat. The filter uses an internal stainless steel cage for structural support and is designed to be MAF-safe – meaning it won’t interfere with the air flow sensor readings that the engine management system relies on.
The heat shield is more detailed in its design than most alternatives on the market, helping to keep hot engine bay air away from the filter and maintain a supply of cooler, denser air to the turbo. Cooler air contains more oxygen, which is what the engine ultimately needs to produce power.
When used alongside a remap (a recalibration of the engine’s ECU – the computer that controls fuelling and ignition), gains of up to 10% in brake horsepower have been reported, along with up to 25% less restriction in airflow compared to the standard intake. These figures are based on mapped results and real-world testing within the VAG tuning industry. It is worth noting that results will vary depending on the condition of your vehicle, turbo variant, and whether a remap is applied.
Important Fitment Notes
This kit does not fit Audi TT models where the battery is located in the boot.
This kit is not suitable for vehicles where the air filter is housed within the engine cover only. This includes engine codes AXX, BPY, and BWA.
